Proximity switch sensors generally include Sensor Enclosure, and electronic components such as PCB boards, coils, and magnetic cores installed in the sensor housing.
The sensor Enclosure is the main part of a sensor. Now, most of the sensor enclosures are made of plastic, perhaps stainless steel, copper, and other metals. The internal components of the sensor are put into the enclosure, and then filled with epoxy or polymer resin for insulation and maintenance.
The plastic shell of the Sensor Enclosure is usually made of PBT, PET, ABS, PMMA, PVC, and other plastics, and is produced by injection molding. However, the plastic housing itself cannot accept high-temperature touch, and its resistance to chemical touch is also limited, so the plastic housing actually provides no protection for the sensor.
Metal Sensor Enclosures can provide excellent impact protection and chemical protection, and can also withstand higher temperatures compared to plastic enclosures.
Through the above introduction and analysis of the materials and composition of Sensor Enclosure, hope it helps you.
