Although the aluminum alloy housing and Stainless Steel housing seem to have little difference, they are used in different fields. Even in the same field, the products made are very different. So does everyone know the difference between aluminum alloy housing and Stainless Steel housing?
Although the aluminum alloy housing and Stainless Steel housing seem to have little difference, they are used in different fields. Even in the same field, the products made are very different. So does everyone know the difference between aluminum alloy housing and Stainless Steel housing?

Aluminum alloy and stainless steel materials are widely used in various industries, and the use of Stainless Steel housing and aluminum alloy housing in modern electronic products is becoming more and more popular. With the continuous development and improvement of processing technology, there will be more and more applications of stainless steel and aluminum alloy casings in various fields. The following is a brief introduction to the specific differences between the two:
The difference in their structure. 1. Compared with Stainless Steel housing, the density of aluminum profiles is very small, only 2.7g/cm. Although it is relatively soft, various aluminum profile alloys can be made by synthesizing other metal elements, such as hard aluminum alloy, super hard aluminum alloy, rust-proof aluminum alloy, cast aluminum alloy, etc. Aluminum alloy is a good conductor of heat, and its thermal conductivity is three times that of iron. In industry, aluminum profiles can be used to manufacture various heat exchangers, heat dissipation materials, and cooking utensils. The ductility of aluminum alloy is very good (the ductility is second only to gold and silver), and it can be made into aluminum alloy foil with a thickness of less than 0.01mm at 100℃~150℃.
2. Stainless steel is made of steel. In the smelting process, chromium, nickel, manganese, silicon, copper, and other metals are added. Chromium is the main alloying element. Generally, the content of chromium itself in stainless steel is at least 10.5%. The density of aluminum alloy varies according to the added alloying elements, generally between 2.5×10³ kg/m³—2.8×10³ kg/m³, so the weight of the aluminum alloy housing is much lighter than that of the Stainless Steel housing, about one-third is the weight of the stainless steel case.
Through the above introduction and analysis of the difference between aluminum alloy housing and Stainless Steel housing in structure, hope it helps you.
